meet our new addition to the Polinski Family

Dec. 1, 2009

Hello, please meet LUCY. This is Nicholas's new friend. She is 8 weeks old. They are both adjusting well together. As most of you know Chris and I had a dog named Ally that died 1 year ago this coming Jan. I never thought I would have another dog but Lucy has bought alot of joy to Nicholas and us. To see them play together will make you smile. Lucy tries so hard to keep us with Nicholas running thru the grass. She sometimes gets lost. I took her to the vet yesterday and she weighs 2.9 lbs. She is called a "weiner poo".... She is a cutie and so good natured.

Its funny to watch Nicholas and her play ball. Nicholas is picky on what toys of his she can play with lol. He is learning to share.

Enjoy the pics : )

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

October 31, 2009

Please meet Mr Tiger Woods Jr. Nicholas was a little golfer for halloween. He already has a swing for golf. His daddy lines the ball up and he drives the ball down the hall. Its so cute to see them practice together.

He had a great time trick a treating. Granna and Pops came to see him before we left for all the candy. He went from door to door and just held his bag out. It was so cute. Chris and I just had grins on our faces and so blessed to finally have this day with him. So many holidays past while we waited for him to come home. Now he is ALL ours.

Happy Halloween : )

Music to Nicholas's ears

As most of you know Nicholas had tubes put in both ears recently. One afternoon Nicholas and I decided to have mom and son day to treat ourselves to lunch. We ate at Chick-fla-A and played awhile. As we were leaving a firetruck in a far distance sirens were goin off. Nicholas stopped in his tracks and told me to listin. He heard the sirens for the first time in his 2 years of life. Oh my goodness my baby was really deaf due to all the fluid build up. It brought tears of joy in my eyes. Its such a good feeling as a parent to know you DID the right thing with no doubts.

He is doin great and his speech is improving more and more each day. He is also sleeping a lot better at night without snoring. Thank you Dr Duncan for helping us make the right decision.

Our Day at Cedar Hill Farms Pumpkin Patch

October 24, 2009

Today the weather was PERFECT. The sun was shining with a nice breeze. I put Nicholas in his fall outfit and off we went. We met Meredith and her kids there and they had a BLAST. We got to ride the train, petting zoo, feed the animals, watch the chicken show, and of course the hayride to the pumpkin patch. Nicholas chose a small pumpkin that we will paint for halloween.

He had a great time with Hayden and Zaidee. Nicholas played so hard that we were not even out of the field and he was asleep in the car. Nicholas once again amazes me each day with his spiritual gifts. I love him so much. Chris and I are such happy parents and very lucky to have Nicholas.

Another Surgery

October 20, 2009

Nicholas is currently seeing a speech therapist once a week. We decided to have a hearing test done in which he failed. We saw an ENT doctor and both ears was full of fluid. That explains the speech problems and hearing test. We had surgery today to have tubes put in both ears and adnoids removed. Dr Thane Duncan, Midsouth Ear Nose and Throat, did the surgery. We were very pleased with Dr. Duncan and the results. The hardest part is seeing him wake up in recovery. They lay there looking so helpless and scared.

Nicholas is doin very well since his surgery. He was up playing and eating everything in sight that afternoon. Boy he is one strong kiddo. I would still be laid up in the bed lol....
The only thing I can say is giving him medicine twice a day is a chore. It takes me and Chris. Oh boy it is not fun but we are almost done. Thank god.

He is starting to let me know sounds he is hearing now. All these months I thought he heard everything. He did in a muffled sound. Poor baby. He is hearing everything now. Before we know it he will start speaking with no problems.

thank you to my family and friends for your prayers.

Children Museum with Mommy and Daddy

October 16, 2009

Today was all about being together. Just the 3 of us. We had lunch at Fresh Slices and went to the Children's Museum. Nicholas got to dressup like a fireman. He rung the sirens, played dentist, went fishing with daddy, and flew a plane. He had a great time.

We are so blessed. Nicholas has adjusted so well to us and his surroundings. God knew what he was doin long before we even had it figured out. Nicholas makes me so happy and proud to call him my son. Chris and I are amazed everyday with his spiritual growings being a child of God.

Our Night with "MALMO"

September 3, 2009

We took Nicholas to see Elmo at the Desoto Civic Center. We had a great time. They had ALL the Sesame Street characters and of course "MALMO" was the star. I loved the begining of the show when they sung Sunny Days. The characters came out in the crowd and Nicholas was alittle undecided about that. He just stared. But he waved and waved at MALMO.

To see all his expressions were so rewarding. Each day I thank GOD for chosing Nicholas for Chirs and I. I love being a mother and god knows what he is doing long before I even have a clue. Nicholas is very healthy, loving, and such a blessing to us.

Enjoy the pics of him in his MALMO outfit : )

Nicholas's first sight of the beach...

August 19-23 2009.....Destin, Flordia

Another memory that is fully remembered. The look on his face when he saw the ocean was priceless. We got to share this vacation with Granna, Pops, Auntie Cara, and Uncle Rob. We had alot of fun times. We played in the sand, water, and saw lots of boats. He learned 2 new words. Ocean and Boat. He is blooming with his talking which makes us all very proud.

He loved to ride on Uncle Rob's back and pretend to be Pablo. The days we were there we all learned the beginning song of Backyardgians. Nicholas wore Pablo out. I thought about throwing the DVD in the ocean LOL....

We had a blast and many more to come. Enjoy the pics.

Please enjoy our little "Guatemalan" boy.

Our Readoption Day

June 9, 2009

Today was a very special day for our family. We met our lawyer , Dan Davis, at Hernando courthouse to see Judge Cobbs. We raised our right hands and sweared to tell the truth of finialzing our adoption in the US. The hearing consist of name change and Mississippi birth certificate. Nicholas is officially Nicholas Daniel Polinski. It was a wonderful feeling to know we are one step closer to finishing all this paperwork for his adoption. The next step is his citizenship and then I think that is all. I hope!!!!

Words cannot express the love we have for Nicholas. God knew exactly what he was doin to have Nicholas put into our lifes and grow in our hearts. Everyday is a blessing. Every cry, smile, temper tantrum, and whine is music to my heart. I would not have it any other way.

I will say the process today was a piece of cake compared to the court in Guatemala. We were there and done in 30 minutes. We are such happy parents of Nicholas Daniel.

Now lets get a sister for Nicholas but not international. We are praying about it and asking GOD to give us direction on our next child. Time will tell.

Meet Mr. Fish

June 8, 2009

Hello Everyone,

Please meet Mr. Fish. We went to Petco and Nicholas picked this one out. We have multi colored rocks and everyday we wave hello and goodbye to Mr. Fish. Nicholas feeds Mr. Fish once a day and likes to stand in the chair to watch him swim.

We thought of getting a dog but I think the fish is less maintence. Nicholas loves his fish and he blows kisses to Mr. Fish. I just hope Mr. Fish last longer than a week lol. Goldfish as their own life spans. I have to watch Nicholas so Mr. Fish will not be over feed. lol

Everyday Nicholas amazes us.

Nicholas kept goin from lap to lap between Daddy and I. But he did not take his eyes of Bob. We had a terrific time and had dinner at On the Border. Nicholas is all about some chips and cheese dip. Today was a very special time for our family and quality time with one another.

Nicholas's first surgery

April 21, 2009

Nicholas was taken back to surgery around 9:00 am for his circumcision. Nicholas and I walked thru the Bunny Tunnel and he got a toy. He decided on a baseball and glove. He went into the nurse's arms and did not even cry. Which made it easier for mom. He woke up in recovery crying wanting his momma. I held him and rocked him to comfort him. He was very sleepy but saw his juice on the bed and pointed and wanted it. He is one AMAZING boy. He had both of his grandmothers there to love on him also. I am so proud of Nicholas.

We were home around 11:00 am. He is a trooper. I told my friend , Dotty, that our boys have been thru alot for being so young and they keep that smile and good spirit. I am so thankful for him. God knew what he was doin chosing him for us and allowing him to grow in our hearts until he came home.

GOD IS AWESOME!!!!!

As of today, Nicholas is playing, eating, and being a typical 2 year old. I never would have thought he had surgery less than 24 hours ago.

thank you for all prayers.

Thank you Jennifer.

We are so happy to have him home and GoD continues to bless us each and every day. Life is a gift and Nicholas is Heaven sent.

My first Easter egg hunt

We went with our family and friends to Cedar Hill Farms for Easter pics, petting zoo, egg hunt, seeing the Easter bunny, and pony rides. He had the time of his life. He loved the animals as long as they were behind the fence. Therefore, no pony rides.

We stood in line to get on the tractor to go find eggs in the big field. He loved the ride and then when we stopped and he saw the eggs he was gone. Nicholas, Granna, and Ninnie ran and grabbed a bucket full. I cried to stand there and watch before my eyes what I dreamed of for so long. He is one AMAZING child. He had so much fun. Those big brown eyes started to get heavy so we were not down the gravel road at the farm and he was out.

Nicholas is OURS and we owe GOD for the gift of Nicholas's life . Easter is a holiday that makes me stop and think how things are are ALL possible with GOD. GOD had Nicholas growing in our hearts before Chris and I even knew what he planned for us. GOD is awesome.

Happy Easter to Jesus and all his people. We love you all : )

My first trip to see Dr. Rather to have my teeth cleaned and counted.

April 2, 2009

Here is a fearless little boy in the dental chair having a good ole time. Mrs. Rachel counted his teeth and he loved the suction straw and spray gun. Nicholas had a great visit and all his toofies are white and pearlie. He had fun and strutted himself up and down the halls. Thank GOD I used to work for Doc so we did not get kicked out. Nicholas loved playing with Dr. Rather. Well you know he is a kid himself LOL. I love and miss that office and it made me feel really good to have them there to check Nicholas's teeth and make his first visit memorable for him and me.

Nicholas is such a trooper in just about anything and everything he does. He is such a blessing. : )

Homecoming at the Memphis Airport 3-13-09

THIS DAY HAS FINALLY CAME....HOME AT LAST FOREVER!!!!!!!!

Here are several pics of our BIG day. This day was everything I dreamed of for 2 years. All our family and friends were there to welcome Nicholas home. It was amazing. Thank you to everyone. It meant so much to us for you to share this special day with us.

We were so worried about overwheling Nicholas. He showed us. He went to everyone and smiled like he knew them this whole time. It was such a blessing. Nicholas fits right on in with all of us. He loved to play with the balloons people brought and just adjusted very well.

After the airport we went to momma and daddy's house to play and then off to Logan's. We finally got a good piece of meat, I was living off of fruit and onion rings in Guatemala. I was ready for some real food. Nicholas ate taters and baked apples. Therefore, when we got home I had my first experience with a poop diaper. I will be honest I threw up and Chris had to finish. I am a pro now though. I could do it with my eyes closed LOL....

Please enjoy the pics and thanks again everyone.

Apology...

Hello Friends and Family-

As most of you know the journey of getting Nicholas home was very upsetting until the end. I want to take a moment to apologize that I have not posted since August. We had to hire a personal lawyer in Guatemala to protect our son and some families and the director of Semillas, Nancy Bailey, had a problem with that decision we made as parents. I became very private of how we were handling the situation of getting our son home sooner than later.

While we were in Guatemala in August we were able to get Nicholas's passport and visa for him to travel home but with the raid in May 2008 prevented the children to leave Semillas and the country. We have rights to our son and I was determined Nancy was not goin to have the control of making decisions of our childs leaving. So thank god for Roberto (our lawyer).

I will just say that Nancy Bailey will answer for her wrong doings as the director. She made alot of bad choices and decisions which she will answer for. I have to be the bigger person and let GOD have control of that situation. My heart breaks for those children who will grow up there and the families who do not know the true story.

Chris and I got an email from our lawyer, Roberto, who asked us to travel. We got on an airplane March 2, 2009 and returned on March 13, 2009 . Our trip consisted of traveling to the orphange everyday to visit our son until we could take custody so we could remove him from Semillas. The trip was one hour and fifteen minutes each way. We were very pleased to have our court hearing on March 5, 2009 to find out the judge dismissed our case and it was APPROVED!!!!! We took custody of Nicholas on March 12, 2009. So you could see we were not wasting time, less than 24 hours and we were on US soil.

So with all this said I wanted everyone to know why we were quite for so long. Thank you to everyone for your prayers, support, and understanding. Nicholas is so blessed to have each one of you in his life. Thru all this I have understood that GOD's timing is perfect and not ours. You have to keep your faith strong and know everything happens for a reason.

We love all of you and we could of not done this without you guys : )
